Jo Styles speech from Saturday nights get together to see Toby off... She managed to get through it despite the tears......Im not very good at this sort of thing but I really wanted to say a few things tonight. I cant believe we are here tonight celebrating you going out into the world on your own. I have thought about this time a lot over the years but if always seemed so far away. I remember so clearly the day you were born I never thought I could love something so much as I did when I saw you. When you were a baby I was I my element I was the mum I had always dreamed of being and when Todd came along our family was complete and all I ever wanted it to be. You have always been kind thoughtful funny hardworking and many other things .( most of the time) you have been through some worrying times over ther last couple few years. When you were diagnosed with your crohns you never complained you never said why me. You just got on with it. Your an inspiration. Infact you make us laugh how fascinating you find it all. You actually look forward to your consultant appointements. The same this year with your eye operation never complained. So this summer has been a very special one. Mainly because of someone named Jess. As I was besotted with you as a baby you are completely bessoted by Jess now. You two have reminded me so much of dad and I when we were your age. Good luck to you as well Jess for uni. And if you and Toby are meant to be together you will get through the time apart. Theres also someone else who needs a well done. Todd we are so proud of you for getting into sixth form work hard and you will be following Toby to uni. So Tobz I have written this as if from me its my thoughts but I know that these are all dads thoughts too we are both so proud of you and hope you have the time of your life at uni. Just remember to come back and see us I promise I wont mind doing your washing. Xx
