Joan Campbell Says My son finds it difficult to speak and I waited 14 years to hear him say Ma what a beautiful sound , I taught him how to spell with scrabble letters using picture cards. I used to put he picture cards on each step of our stairs and I would spell the word then show him and scramble up the letters and ask him to do it, so never lose hope. When I ask him are you ok he can say O K Ma I tried to teach him to say phonic vowels, letters of the alphabet in front of a mirror. so he can say stuff like ba na na. for banana. I have taught him how to bless himself at night. He will also sing the 0 in Molly Malones song. So when I sing Alive alive 0 he says the 0. He will nod for yes or try and say yea and he shakes his head for no. Small steps and make it fun. Joan Campbell manager.
