Joan Niebruegge, 81, of Troy, Ill., born Oct. 2, 1933, in Highland, Ill., died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill. Joan retired from waitressing after 38 plus years from the good ole Union 76/TA truck stop. She was an avid Cardinals Baseball fan and NASCAR fan. She loved the birds in her yard and enjoyed feeding and watching them. Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. In honor of Joan the family has requested family and friends to wear Cardinals Baseball clothing to the visitation and service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Niebruegge whom she married on Dec. 5, 1953, and who passed away on May 15, 1989; a son, James Niebruegge; her parents, John and Martha, nee Sinskey, Barsch; brothers, John “Buck” Barsch and Ronald Barsch; and sisters, Mary “Jay” Sackett, “Agg” Frederking and Barbara Schmitt. Surviving are her children, Nancy (Alan T.) Scheyer of Troy, Ill., Donald W. (Mary) Niebruegge of Troy, Ill., and Ronald (Laura) Niebruegge of St. Jacob, Ill.; grandchildren, Natalie (Chatree) Jones, Nicole Niebruegge, Justin (Emily) Niebruegge, Sara and Sam Bozarth, Nicholas Niebruegge Bradley, Scott (Zoe) Lewis Jr., Erica (Timothy) Nast and Dustin (Amanda) Scheyer; great-grandchildren, Francesca Jones, Kolbe Bozarth, Noah J. Niebruegge, Baylee Jewell, Dylan Nast, Canyon Lewis and Rhen Scheyer; and her brother, Donald Barsch of Troy, Ill. Memorials may be made to United Way, Siteman Cancer Center for Colon Cancer Research or Macular Degeneration Foundation.
