Joan Piper GREENVILLE – Joan Piper, 76, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born in Starke Knox, Ind. Sept. 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John and Monica Locke. She was a laborer in a factory and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Knox, Ind. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Locke. Survivors include her husband, Dorise Piper; a daughter, Cynthia (James) Mayes of Greenville; a step-daughter, Lana Adcock of Greenville; a son, Howard (Vickie) Piper of Bristol, Ind.; four grandchildren, Brian (Chasity) Piper, Ashley (Allen) Richardson, Mike Piper and Jennifer (Rich) Taylor; four great-grandchildren, Seth Gilbert, Haley Piper, Zack Taylor and Nick Taylor; two step-grandchildren, Chris Nelson and Kevin Nelson; two brothers, Joe Locke of Springfield, Ohio and John Locke of Springport, Mich.; and two sisters, Monica Kirk of Cave Creek, Ariz. and Lorraine Deron of South Bend, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 12 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Greg Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Greenville. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Sept. 11 at the funeral home.
