Job 3:25 For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me. If we insist on gazing on what we fear, God is faithful to eventually give it to us...not because He gives up on us, but because He is faithful to demonstrate that He is bigger than what we fear. We can save Him and us a lot of the time and trouble by conquering that fear before He has to give us the live demonstration! Either way, He is a good Father who wants us to keep our eyes on Him:
