Job Description : ASLOB Reporting Lead – Financial and Bureau Statistical Reporting Job Location : Alpharetta, GA Mode of Hire : Full Time The candidate should have prior experience leading a team, responsible for preparing bureau statistical and statutory (ad-hoc) reporting. The lead is an IT role that interfaces with multiple internal stakeholders including finance, compliance, and IT management. The ideal candidate will have “hands on” reporting experience, understands the reporting requirements, can manage cross-functional release teams, and manage/coach employees and contractors in their day-to-day activities. There are 3 components to the role: Operational: the lead will be responsible for: Maintaining the report calendar for financial close and regulatory reporting End-to-end delivery of the reports to the finance and compliance stakeholders according to the schedule agreed. The reporting process involves aggregating information potentially across multiple sources, preparation of the reports for stakeholders, and evaluation of the data quality of financial or statistical results prior to hand-off to stakeholders for review and distribution. The individual will need to understand the different levels of reporting detail required for each type of reporting requirement – both bureau statistical and statutory reporting. Results for bureau statistical reporting and adhoc statutory data calls will need to be balanced against the yellow book results Assist global finance team with preparation of data files to support loss reserving, or capital modeling functions Custom ad-hoc financial reporting and other reporting requests from the CFO as part of close cycles or special projects Document and enhance operational processes to streamline and optimize reporting processes and team utilization IT Support and Maintenance: Maintenance of the ASLOB reporting solution Manage the delivery process for addressing any defects identified or delivery of small enhancements. The delivery is accomplished in scheduled releases that will be established working with the client IT management. Delivery of project plan, requirements, sample report specifications, data mapping, ETL, report preparation, QA, UAT/acceptance by the client Manage the production batch processes, per frequency required by client, including the financial close cycles associated with reporting function Management: Manage a small team of developers to deliver the functions identified above Weekly status reporting to client and Genpact management; monthly executive meetings Issue escalation as required for data quality, technology, data mapping issues as required Requirements: Proven track record of leading a reporting function for bureau statistical and statutory reporting for a P&C insurer 7-10 years of experience in managing financial report delivery for P&C insurance carriers, commercial lines of business preferred. Basic understanding of insurance financial operations, processes and insurance data structures Should be able to understand reconciliation systems and drive monthly, quarterly, yearly closures Demonstrate knowledge of the bureau statistical and statutory reporting requirements for P&C lines of business Experience working in project delivery / change management in a multi-location and multi-stakeholder environment Planning, organizing and prioritizing workloads and releases Proven analytics, root cause analysis skills and ability to solve difficult problems Strong stakeholder management, mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with senior executives Finance process and data analysis experience with strong understanding of relationships and operational dependencies in a typical finance department Understanding of standard processes for software delivery cycles Understanding of MS SQL Server development and ETL – Note: the ASLOB Reporting Lead will not be required to code or architect solutions.
