Job Description Engineer (Testing Engineer)(Job Number: 140001V9) Description Responsibilities : The CTCT-India part of Electronics and Systems Integration-India organization has an Engineer position available. Successful candidate in this position, will be involved in hands-on, automated script development where the person will be programming in python/dSpace for testing products like Paving Control Systems, Accugrade Grade Control System and Caterpillar Grade Control. Responsibilities include: - Analysis of requirement, write test plan and test cases according to specification ( Marketing Requirements Documents/What to Build Documents) - Create test scripts and execute test according to the plan - Work closely with Lead Quality Engineer in estimation and execution of test roadmap. - Document the test results in automated way and communicate to Developers/Systems Engineer - Evaluate new products, processes, or systems; - Ensure that test specifications, results, and lessons learned are documented and archived. - Execute tests on dSpace system bench, create or enhance new script using control desk Work assignments require theoretical and practical knowledge typically acquired through a combination of experience and education. Qualifications Required Skills: • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related area • 4-7 years of Embedded Software testing experience in heavy-industry, automotive, or industrial applications • Experience writing test code using Python, C++, C language. • Must have good knowledge of SAE-J1939 public and Proprietary protocols • Experience in socket communication and TCP/IP, UDP protocols • Should have the ability to write test scripts / test software using CANalyzer and/or CANoe • Understanding of Software Configuration Management preferably SVN, GIT • Experience with automation tools and any graphical tool package such as OpenCV a plus • Attention to detail and a team player and passion to find defects in the software through innovative approach • Self starter, desire to learn and ability to communicate effectively with team located in different geographical locations Desired skills: • Knowledge on CAPL programming, XML and PERL scripting will be an added advantage Caterpillars workforce is as diverse as the customers we serve.
