Job Description Software Developer 2-14000BQ7 Preferred Qualifications The Disk & Flash Storage Quality and Systems Engineering organization is responsible for Quality Engineering of the ZFS Storage Appliance product line. This includes development of an automation test environment that allows for all Test Engineers to contribute to as part of their daily test activities, improves test effectiveness and allows for scalability in order to meet the demands and timelines of the multiple release cycles of the ZFSSA Storage Appliance. Candidate needs experience with all or a subset of the following programming disciplines: C, C++, Java, Python or Shell Scripting on Solaris, Linux and Windows environments. Knowledge of multi-threading a plus. Candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills including contributing to wiki based documentation. Ability to work in a team environment. Knowledge of Storage and network interfaces and protocols (FC, iSCSI, FCoE SAS, IB) is a plus. Work closely with the System Test organization to understand test cases/requirements to automate the same. Experience with release engineering is a plus. Detailed Description and Job Requirements Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture. Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
