Pierce, FL Environmental Analyst Position Summary Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, located in Ft. Pierce, FL, seeks candidates for an Environmental Analyst. This position will participate in the Indian River Lagoon Observatory (IRLO), a multi-disciplinary research program to investigate ecological relationships in the Indian River Lagoon (IRL) and how they are impacted by natural and human-induced stressors (https://fau.edu/hboi/meh/irlo.php). This scientist will work with the IRLO Principal Investigator and team, with an emphasis on data analyses, data synthesis, and facilitating report and publication writing, other dissemination of IRLO products, and grant writing. Responsibilities will include: - Summarize and analyze existing and new IRLO data (primarily on water quality, seagrass, and macroalgae) in the form of manuscripts for scientific publication; internal research reports; and presentations at scientific meetings - Make these data accessible to other IRLO investigators for use in research, publications, presentations, and proposals - Network with agencies in regards to outreach of IRLO, including participation in meetings, reports, and other products - Assist in preparation of proposals for external funding to continue and expand IRLO research activities Requirements Masters or PhD in marine or environmental science, bio-statistics, or a related discipline and two years of relevant experience with analysis of environmental data.
