The OACP, in partnership with the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office, is seeking an experienced law enforcement professional to recruit and facilitate the participation of agencies in the IACP National Law Enforcement Challenge. Oklahoma ranks near the bottom regarding reduction of fatality collisions and the challenge will be for agencies to address traffic safety issues. The Challenge is available for all sizes of agencies. This will be a part-time, averaging 20 hours per week, contracted position with the hourly rate depending upon qualifications and experience. This position will be located at the OACP Office at 8915 S Olie in Oklahoma City but will require some travel around the state. The coordinator will be reimbursed for travel expenses but will need a reliable vehicle and insurance. Qualifications and Experience: The ideal candidate should be an experienced law enforcement officer, possibly retired, and knowledgeable of traffic safety projects or programs. The position requires interaction with chiefs and sheriffs or high ranking officials in those agencies and therefore requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
