The end is to help as many people as possible into God’s family; the means are every creative thing we can think of to connect with people. DESCRIPTION We are looking for a person to work 20 hours/week with children, youth and families… to resource and train members of the congregation for children’s ministry (Wednesday nights and Sunday School) , including Safeplace training, to take the lead in youth ministry (for both senior and junior high on Wednesday nights and Sunday School and youth events), forming meaningful relationships with the youth, and resourcing and training members of the congregation to help our youth into a faith that lasts a lifetime, to help us with family and intergenerational events, to assist the pastor in such aspects of worship(could include preaching and communion) and congregational care and outreach as are desirable to the person and fit the person’s gifts. The person will be under the care and direction of the lead pastor and will be in close contact with the Leadership Team and educational ministry teams. QUALIFICATIONS We are seeking a person with a vital and contagious faith in Jesus, who believes the Bible to be “the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine and conduct” (Covenant Affirmations) someone who is dependable, teachable, discerning, growing in his or her own faith, able to lead, able to keep confidences, willing to be involved in the community, having a concern for others, easy to talk to, not contentious, who enjoys games and the outdoors and knows a little about country living. Our youth say, “The person doesn’t have to be perfect, but there should be more positives than negatives.” If married, a supportive spouse is important. Education and experience are preferred. COMPENSATION We will provide a salary/housing package of $20,000. Health insurance is negotiable within the limits of our ministry spending plan. Covenant continuing education events and local training and affinity groups will be provided as we are able. Mileage will be reimbursed at the current IRS rate. Another part-time job is allowed.
