Job Opportunity - Temporary Position My Health My Community Survey field outreach representatives Overview My Health My Community (MHMC) is an online health and wellness survey developed to collect data on health, lifestyle, environment, and community characteristics. Using online tools to engage community members, participants will be encouraged to provide information about their health status and lifestyle choices, in order to establish a baseline and track data over time. This project is a partnership between Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), the eHealth Strategy Office, Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia, and Fraser Health Authority. The survey was launched on June 27th, 2013. Job Summary Fraser Health (FH) is recruiting students to promote MHMC at community events and to collect data in the community. You will be engaging with members of the public, raising awareness and recruiting participants for the MHMC survey. Field outreach will be conducted from November 2013 until March 2014. Surveyors will be deployed at locations throughout the Fraser Health region (between Burnaby and Hope) This is a temporary position with flexible hours averaging out to 30 hours a week. Hours of work may vary but will average 6 hours per day at $15.00 per hour. Some evening and weekend work will be required. Responsibilities include: • Attending special events and other activities to promote MHMC survey • Engaging and educating the public about MHMC survey • Asking members of the public to complete email registration for MHMC survey • Traveling to community sites to collect data following MHMC survey protocols and procedures To succeed in this position you: • Have excellent communication skills • Are confident approaching individuals (strangers) in community settings • Are able to easily build rapport with a diverse range of people • Are comfortable with online technology • Able to work independently and be self motivated • Promote a professional image of the organization We are especially looking for surveyors who are able to fluently speak a second language (preferably Mandarin/Cantonese or Punjabi). Basic computer skills are required but training to survey will be provided. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. Surveyors must be 18 years of age or older. A criminal records check is required. Training and Support: Successful applicants will be provided appropriate training.
