Job Opportunity in NYC: Associate Director, Coordinator of Multicultural Recruitment needed at Barnard College. Under the direction of the Director of Admissions, the Associate Director will participate fully in all aspects of the admissions recruitment and selection process, including travel to high schools and college fairs, interviewing, and the evaluation and selection of candidates. He/she will also supervisor and direct select admissions staff and student assistants and will take a leadership role in staff training and professional development. The Associate Director of Admissions will have primary responsibility for coordinating multicultural outreach initiatives, including recruitment and yield programs, and outreach to community-based organizations. She/he will also be responsible for developing and implementing long and short-term multicultural recruitment strategies, will work closely with the Director and Dean of Enrollment Management on multicultural research initiatives, and will be expected to develop collaborative working relationships on campus with faculty and other student affairs staff to support diversity initiatives. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree from a liberal arts institution. Graduate degree, although not required, is desirable. • Four to five years of experience in college or university admissions. • Understanding of the values of a liberal arts education for women and the ability to articulate them effectively. • Effective and persuasive communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to supervise a staff and direct the work flow of other staff members. • Ability to write clearly and concisely and to communicate orally in a variety of situations. • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills. • High personal energy level and stamina. • Willingness and ability to travel for up to two weeks at a time. • Valid driver’s license. • High degree of organizational skills and ability to absorb detail. • Excellent personal computing skills for own use. https://careers.barnard.edu/postings/513
