Job Position : External Sales Consultant Ref : 1639 Location : Port Elizabeth Salary : R8000 per month (including Provident Fund) + contribution to fuel and cell phone cost on a reimbursement basis Qualifications / Requirements: • A National Senior Certificate (Matric) is essential and a relevant formal post Matric qualification • Valid drivers license • A recognised formal qualification in Sales and Marketing • An industry related formal qualification (architecture, design, QS, construction management, etc.) together with a recognised and proven external sales experience would also be considered • A good knowledge of external sales principles and techniques is required including effective negotiation capability and proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint is necessary • Local market knowledge of the property development, building design and construction industry and the industry professionals (architects, designers, quantity surveyors, construction contractors, etc.) operating within the region would be a great advantage • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and professionally, both written and spoken, in English (as a minimum) • A good technical understanding, ability to interpret technical design drawings and proficiency in general design software could further assist • The candidate must be able to work both as an individual but also as a team member • External sales experience is essential • External sales of finishing products to building industry professionals at all levels would be an advantage Key Performance Areas: • Service and call on established clients and maintain and build good relationships • Schedule appointments with industry professionals (architects, designers, quantity surveyors, construction contractors, property developers, etc.) on a planned basis to understand their specific needs for the projects that they are working on and prepare presentations to present our suitable product options to them for consideration towards specification. • The incumbent must pro-actively identify project opportunities in the local and regional market where our products could be marketed to industry professionals for inclusion in their projects already from the early planning and design phase • Must do research to identify the industry professionals involved in new development projects to pursue them for inclusion of products • Build professional trust relationships with industry professionals through quality service and support • Be able to develop a good technical knowledge of the products and its application in the industry in a very short space of time • Complete detailed visit reports of all customer meetings / contacts to follow up and plot progress on opportunities • Draft and submit weekly feedback / progress reports to keep national management informed of progress with projects and of new opportunities • Actively network at all levels in the industry on an ongoing basis • Represent the brand at a professional level in the market at all times in the defined market Please email an updated, detailed CV to [email protected] together with a recent, colour, head and shoulders photograph of yourself.
