Job Position : Quality Engineer Supplier and Laboratory (Equity Appointment) Ref : 1654 Location : Port Elizabeth (Markman) Salary : Commensurate with experience and qualification Qualifications / Requirements: • Technical University Degree / equivalent • Minimum 5 years in quality department in automotive manufacturing facilities • Previous working experience in harness or exposure to wiring plant advantageous • Previous experience working with customer quality resolution advantageous Key Performance Areas: • Assure that all products (direct materials / components) delivered by suppliers meet the quality requirements according to the rules and standard determined by the customer and internally • Ensure that supplier concerns are raised and follows up the concern (containment / problem solving / supplier chargeback) until effective close-out of issue • Manage the contracted personnel used for supplier containment activities: that they are well trained in the activities they partake in and create a positive image for company • Communicate supplier issues internally and elevate issues which may cause internal line stoppages / customer delay • Monitor quality performance of suppliers and rate suppliers monthly (quality and delivery - input from logistics) • Report monthly on supplier performance to the Quality Assurance Manager • Schedule / conduct supplier audits (where necessary) to review supplier processes and / or that suppliers implement corrective actions / preventative actions from previous findings / proposed solutions to prevent concerns • Support Global Purchasing and Local Logistics Manager on any localisation activities / change to suppliers • Review all supplier submissions with supporting data and approve • Support validation activities (new / ongoing) and coordinate all mechanical / environmental and other validations • Define and maintain all laboratory equipment calibrations • Define and coordinate all laboratory R&R studies • Report all monthly on laboratory activities to Quality Manager Please email an updated, detailed CV to [email protected] together with a recent, colour, head and shoulders photograph of yourself.
