Job Title: DEPUTY PROJECT DIRECTOR Job code (VDPM) Job Location: Kuwait Job Description: The position is for the construction of a large scale high-rise tower (56 floors). He shall be responsible to manage office related work from correspondence to followup with subcontractors, procurement followup, etc. and remains as the important interface between the project teams that make up the overall project. The position will report to the Project Director. Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities: The Candidate will be responsible of the smooth construction operation till Completion of the Works. In particular, he shall: • Direct, advice and manage project technical staff. • Actively followup on the schedule, participate in its development, plan the required resource, manage for corrective/ alternate solutions in case of any failure or potential failure. • Ensure progress monitoring and early problem prevention. • Meet with sub-contractors regularly and ensure timely compliance. • Analyze situations and problems accurately, identify and weigh the probable effects of alternative solutions and implement effective courses of action. • Direct general work sequencing to expedite overall project delivery and to minimize disruption of associated operations and / or zones; Coordinate tracking and control of project related resources and materials, utilizing project reporting systems. • Properly and timely handle all means of correspondence with the involved Parties (Engineer, CM, subcontractors, etc.). • Set, organize and conduct general review meetings dealing with progress, coordination, procurement, Quality-related and technical issues, safety and cost control, enforce the full compliance of all concerned with the decisions taken therein. • Enforce the Quality Control set criteria: Inspect, approve, and accept completed activities ensuring conformance with institutional standards, building and life safety codes, and Contract specifications and / or implement the corrective actions related thereto. • Ensure the respect of the HSE rules throughout the construction activities. • Secure the application of the Companys Quality Manual, Quality Standards and the related procedures. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the involved parties on the project. • Ensures that appropriate co-ordination is maintained throughout the project to establish and maintain a close working relationship, resolve interface issues and ensure a joint commitment to the success of the project. • Ensure activities comply with organisational requirements for quality management. • Organise, plan, direct, advice and people management. Academic & Job Related Qualifications: • A Civil Engineering graduate from a reputed University. Masters preferred. • A highly accomplished person with minimum of 20 years post qualification experience in top quality civil projects, experience working on high rise commercial buildings of 200 Mtrs and above, number of other projects of comparable size and complexity in a key managerial will be preferred. • Candidate with experience in a construction management company will be preferred. • Demonstrated ability to establish and accomplish goals and priorities; recognize, develop and utilize resources; and achieve outcomes that consistently exceed customers’ expectations. Fluent in Arabic and English. Remuneration & Facilities: • Salary: Commensurate with Qualifications, Experience, areas of responsibilities managed and will be in par with industry’s standards. • Paid vacation: One month per year. • Bonus: Based on individual / company’s performance. • Round trip air ticket to country of origin every year for self & wife. • Transportation: Car with fuel will be provided. • Accommodation: Not provided.
