Job Title: IT Tech II Position Status: Full Time Department: AIT Technical Infrastructure City: Varies State: New Jersey Position Days: Varies Standard Hours: 37.50 Weekend Required: Yes Holidays Required: Yes Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY: The Information Technology Technician II supports and maintains in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware, equipment, Operating Systems and software while ensuring optimal workstation performance. This position may also require on-call responsibilities and rotational shift coverage (i.e. early and late shifts), depending on required organizational needs. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: A+ Certification, required. Valid Driver’s license required. Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Certification or equivalent Microsoft Operating Systems Certification required. Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert Certification preferred. Microsoft Office Specialist Certification preferred. EXPERIENCE: 3 to 5 years experience in field or related area required. Demonstrates knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field required. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required combined with the ability to provide quick resolution to problems. Strong verbal, written communications skills required. Demonstrates a wide degree of creativity and latitude. Must be customer service oriented and believe in AtlantiCare’s Values, collaboration, adaptability and initiatives. Requires minimal supervision in resolving problems or enquiries.* Frequently works independently.* Interacts with and may influence immediate colleagues.* May have some contact with customers, suppliers and partners. * May have more influence in own area of responsibility.* Performs a range of varied work activities in a variety of structured environments.* Contributes to routine problem resolution.* Understands and uses appropriate methods, tools and applications.* Demonstrates a rational and organized approach to work.* Identifies and negotiates own development opportunities.* Has sufficient communication skills for effective dialogue with customers.* Is able to work in a team.* Is able to plan, schedule and monitor own work within short time frames.* Absorbs technical information when it is presented systematically and applies it effectively.* Actively understands relevant legal, legislative, and policy issues as it relates to area of responsibility.* Provide guidance to junior members of the team as required.* Performs other duties as assigned.* Follows and adheres to ITIL processes - Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management.* Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring PC performance.* Accurately document instances of hardware/software failure, repair, installation, and removal.* Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware/software needs. * Plans and coordinates cable installations with customers and cable contractors.* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hardware, software and equipment contracts and supervise contract-based installations.* Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, maintain current knowledge of plan executables, and respond to crises in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.* Conduct research on computer products in support of PC procurement and development efforts.* Evaluate and recommend hardware and software products for purchase.* Write technical specifications for purchase of PCs, networking hardware and related products.* Recommend, schedule, and perform PC, hardware, software and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, and repairs.* Work with end users to identify and deliver required PC service levels.* Liaise with, and provide limited training and support to, end users and staff on computer operation and other issues.* Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, software, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products.* Where required, install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot associated end user workstation software and networking software products.* Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.* Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding PC and/or hardware problems.* Develop and maintain an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, printers, scanners, and other peripheral equipment.* Monitor and test PC performance and provide PC performance statistics and reports.* Construct, install, and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems.* If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors.* WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires balancing, climbing, fingering, grasping, hearing, kneeling, reaching, reading, seeing, speaking, standing and stooping a majority of the time.
