The Role: The Endpoint development team, based in Adelaide, is responsible for the ongoing development of Clearswift’s endpoint security products and is currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Software Engineer. The Endpoint Security products, integrated with Clearswifts award winning Gateway solutions and core technology, prevent inadvertent or deliberate data leakage. Flexibility of policy means that users are able to take full advantage of the collaboration afforded by modern communication channels while at the same time providing a secure environment within which to work. The successful applicants will contribute to the continued enhancement of these Clearswift products. Working within one of the agile Scrum teams they will be expected to take an active role in capturing and understanding product requirements, producing design documentation, coding and producing unit tests. Development is primarily using Java and C++ on Linux, but they could also be expected to use any of the following technologies: SQL, JavaScript, JSP, HTML, CSS, DHTML, DOM, AJAX or shell scripting. Experienced engineers will support the successful applicant in acquiring the product knowledge required to become a productive member of the international development team and some international travel may be required from time to time. Key Responsibilities: • Designing, coding & testing product components to enhance Clearswift’s endpoint security products • Supporting all aspects of the development process by attending and contributing in planning, status and review meetings • Working with the internal test & documentation teams to ensure successful product delivery Skills Profile: Essential Skills • Two or more years commercial Java development experience • Experience of developing software for Linux platforms • Demonstrable Object Oriented programming experience • Experience of the complete software development lifecycle • Clear and concise communication skills (verbal and written) • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team • Proactive, enthusiastic and a quick learner Desirable Skills • Exposure to Agile software development techniques • Experience of developing software within the Scrum framework • Experience of writing unit tests and test driven development • One or more years commercial C++ experience • Knowledge and experience of database design and writing SQL • Experience of User Interface design and JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX or GWT development • Knowledge of one or more internet protocols including SMTP, HTTP and MIME Qualifications • A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related subject
