Job application #40. Job referral #18. Job interview #3. My pants split as I get back into the car at the gas station. A tree falls on River Road snarling traffic for 30 minutes. I circle round and round looking for parking. I walk in with my sneakers on and walk back out to get my pumps. Now I am late for my interview so I run. I step on gum. Not just a piece. Like a whole pack. I laugh really loudly. A homeless veteran sitting at the bus stop waiting for a ride laughs at me. He says hey girl you look good when you laugh. Good Onen #1. The beautiful new Womens Health Clinic has great feng shui - crystals and paintings of birds and lavender scented rooms. Good Omen #2. The interview panel says Weve been looking for someone with your unique skill set. Good Omen #3. So well see. Two more interviews this week. Gum remover at home. Pants to the cleaners.
