Job market/ Neues vom Stellenmarkt II: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN PhD GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP IN PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY AND THE ENVIRONMENT The Department of Geography and the Environment at the University of Texas at Austin invites Physical Geography applications to the PhD programs in Geography, to enroll in Fall 2015. We anticipate offering at least one Graduate Research Assistantship in Hydrology and Geoarchaeology beginning in Fall 2015. Strong wet lab analytical skills, field experience, and an interest in hydrology are preferred. Applications are due 1/1/15. Our Geoarchaeology Research Team focuses on reconstructing past environments, global change, geoarchaeology, hydrology and water resources, soils, geomorphology, and geochemistry, with an emphasis on analyzing proxies for environmental history. The Principal Investigators have two labs focusing on Environmental Hydrology and Water Quality, and Soils and Geoarchaeology, with a range of lab and field equipment for research.
