FINISHING END SUPERINTENDENT Lavington, BC RESPONSIBILITIES: The Finishing End Superintendent is accountable for all activities conducted in the Finishing End Department of the Lavington Division. This includes, but is not limited to, the planer, dry kilns, lumber handling, and shipping. The incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day operations including: •Implementation and management of a pro-active safety program that supports Company and Site safety programs and goals of the Lavington Division •Forecasting and coordination of the manufacturing process with all Tolko Marketing and Sales departments and transportation departments •Development of programs that maximize margin from the products we produce •Development and management of approved operating budgets •The achievement of production, quality and cost standards QUALIFICATIONS: •Must have proven supervisory experience in the lumber industry. •Related management courses and an excellent knowledge of lumber grades and customer requirements. •A proven commitment to safety, quality, lumber recovery and production is required. •Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills are essential. •Relevant post-secondary education will be considered a definite asset Tolko Industries Ltd. is a forest products company with marketing, resource management and manufacturing operations throughout Western Canada.
