Jobs+++Jobs+++ Senior Practitioner - Childrens Residential - Cobham - 14.01 to 18.21 per hour-Temp Role Job Purpose: · With the rest of the Management Team, ensure that all staff engage and build relationships with children and young people, both individually and in groups · To be aware of, contribute to and work within care plans for all children and young people placed within the home · To work positively and creatively within the daily routine and agreed structures of the home · To maintain good communications and continuity of work practice within the home through attendance at, and contribution to regular team meetings · To act with diligence, integrity and reliability in relation to all aspects of work within the home · To engage actively in collaboration with others in the residential service in the development of effective practice for the care and containment of young people with challenging behaviour and complex needs · With the rest of the Management Team, ensure proper and appropriate nurturing for all clients of the children’s home with particular attention to the provision of primary care in matters of food, health, clothing and shelter · With the rest of the Management Team, ensure the creation and maintenance of a culture which provides for each child and young person a developing feeling of warmth, personal identity, responsibility and security · With the rest of the Management Team, promote an environment wherein the safety of all children and young people is paramount · To encourage young people to participate in appropriate decision making and choices, both individually and as a group · To work reflectively with an understanding of how one’s own and other people’s behaviour and attitudes may impact on self and others · To demonstrate the ability to accept and recognise individual personality differences, and make accommodation for these within the overall framework of care in the home Job Experience/Skills: · 3 Years’ Experience in Children’s Residential care setting · Hold an NVQ3/Diploma or equivalent Contribute to the provision of a service where health, welfare and development of clients is promoted · Contribute to the maintenance of positive and safe environment · Work effectively as a member of a team in order to ensure the work of the home is sensitive to the ethnic, cultural and religious needs of the young people · Follow all relevant aspects of legislation, regulations, policies and procedures of SCC. · Work actively in partnership with parents, social workers, teachers and other agencies · Work flexibly within a staff rota · Assume responsibility for the operation of the home when acting as shift leader · Provide formal supervision to individual members of staff in line with county policy · Deploy, manage, lead and support staff employed in the unit CVs to:[email protected]
