Jobs axe falls on Revenue staff : The Public and Commercial Service union (PCS) has said hundreds of HMRC employees at 70 offices will be made redundant, including almost 200 administrative workers. HMRC said it had confirmed previously-announced plans with staff. The old mass-processing backroom jobs are being superseded by the revolution in digital and online services, which has given us the opportunity to restructure and move skilled staff into frontline customer service roles, a spokesman said.
