Jocelyn has a huge series of lessons on tape from an amazing artist and teacher, Helen Van Wyk. She graciously offered to share these with me and we started thinking that it would be fun to watch them together with any others who might be interested. I dont have room for us to paint, and these lessons are designed to watch without painting anyway, so well probably just watch one of the 30-minute lessons and then talk about world issues or something. Maybe commit to doing it once a week for a month and reassess--- thats MY commitment, you wouldnt need to commit to anything. Helen was known for being able to give you new techniques whether you were the most accomplished artist or a new beginner. For myself, Im hoping this will motivate me to get paints out to play but I have no aspirations to become a serious painter. Yet I am aware that wonderful, serious artists traveled cross-country and came back time and again to take lessons from Helen. But even if you have no desire whatsoever to lift a paintbrush, yet youre curious about how painters do what they do, you are invited to join us. Day and time to be determined, but we do want to do it during a workday, so sorry if that excludes you. (Still, let us know of your interest if that is the case.)
