Joe Cocker. Died 12–20 -20 14. You gaze upon the stage, you see a man who by all appearances seems to suffer from Tourettes syndrome or muscular Scolaro sis.upon closer observation you grow to realize it is Joe Cocker, ^ cared away in the moment, possessed by the emotion of soulful expression. When I was in my teens I came upon a 45, for those that you who are under 30 thats a small piece of vinyl or plastic used to record music. What they would do is put one main song on this piece of plastic that would sell the record. Now on the other side, they would put what is known as a filler, thats a song that isnt as commercial, or popular. The 45 I found was a Joe Cocker recording. On the commercial side it had, I get by with a little help from my friends, an excellent remake of a great Beatles song. On the filler side there was a song called the letter. I fell in love with that song. I also fell in love with Joe Cocker. To hear him you wouldnt think much of his voice, he would never make it through The first round of American Idol. To see him, he looked like a mess. However, with his soulful Raspe and his gift of intense expression of emotion he would reach into your soul and grip your heart, caring you away into the moment. [a true gift.] Yet another rock legend gone. RIP Joe Cocker.
