UK per capita are emitting how much, 15000kg CO2 per year, whereas Indians 250 kg per capita. The UK and rich countries, and rich people in ALL countries, must reduce their emissions. Instead theyre pointing fingers at the poor in the global south. These women in Chattisgarh will not even be emitting 250 kg CO2 in a year. They are some of poorest of poor in the world. The UK agreed to give India £166m to fund the programme, despite allegations that the money would be used to sterilise the poor in an attempt to curb the countrys burgeoning population of 1.2 billion people and Yet a working paper published by the UKs Department for International Development in 2010 cited the need to fight climate change as one of the key reasons for pressing ahead with such programmes
