Joey Hendon passed away at 4:46pm, 17 minutes after he was taken off life support. They played Korn in the OR for him, he was never alone for a second, the surgeons had a moment of silence for him, and on the table with him were his grandmothers rosary and a picture of Vinny. He saved at least four lives with his organ donation: his liver went to Baltimore, his kidneys to the Midwest, and his lungs to New York in a cutting edge procedure that made him the first successful lung donation post-removal of a ventilator in the state of New Jersey. His bone, tissue, and corneas will be used to help cancer patients, amputees, and the blind. He died as he lived: in service. We are currently with family in New Jersey.
