Joey is having a phenomenal day! They took out his cath last night and he is back to peeing in diapers(although no poopy in days so say a prayer for poop LOL)! He has had 2 CPAP trials in preparation for removing his vent today and has been kicking a$$ breathing on his own. He has been awake almost the whole day because they decreased his fentanyl which is a narcotic pain med. So he has been looking at everyone and watching TV with those big, beautiful eyes all day alert and happy. They did an ultrasound on his arm again to check on the blood clot that was there after his surgery. I havent heard anything yet, but that is usually a good thing. I saw his lung x-ray from this morning and compared it with the past couple days and he is much clearer. Once he is off the vent they can feed him and give him some myralax to make him poo. Dr. Groaner (general surgery) was supposed to do the hernia repair and toe nail removal today before all this craziness happened, so the team called him to come up and look at Joeys toes to see if there is ANYTHING he can do before we go home. Joey is on blood thinner so obviously he cant have surgery, and they dont want to put him under until the Glenn. They also asked dermatology to come have a look. Hopefully we can come up with some type of solution for his tootsies. I cant wait until he is extubated!!! I wanna hold by boy. I am feeling better today too. The sun is back out, I got a free haircut at Ronald McDonald house (my first since Joey was born), and got my crying that had been all bottled up, out of the way. All smiles. God is so good!!!
