Joe’s Jeans Pres Lists Hal Levitt Duncan Design We’ve seen our fair share of homes of fashion designers over the years, but nothing quite like the sleek Los Angeles dwelling of Joe Dahan. The Joe’s Jeans president and head designer has listed his prized property for $9.995 million, and it’s everything you would expect from the king of premium jeanswear. Dahan’s home was designed by none other than Hal Levitt, the midcentury master whose architectural works have appealed fashionable celebrity types such as Jennifer Aniston, Ellen DeGeneres and Vidal Sassoon. The architectural compound was built in 1969 and takes on a very zen-like feel with clean lines, walls of floor-to-ceiling glass and lush gardens and bamboo trees. The organic vibe is furthered by way of “meandering paths” that lead to various tiers on the one-acre property featuring a vegetable garden, greenhouse and other perks. In all, the private residence offers five bedrooms, five bathrooms and roughly 3,700 square feet. In addition to the rows of glass, the interior sports travertine flooring, modern fireplaces and various high-end finishes throughout. A posh living room opens to the pool area via telescoping doors and tucked away in a quiet corner of the property is a workout center and meditation room ensconced in glass. Dahan has served as the president and lead designer for Joe’s Jeans since its inception in 2001. He took over as the subsidiary’s Creative Director in 2007 and is responsible for the design, development and marketing of JJ products. In a recent interview with Grazia, Dahan said he came interested in fashion at the age of 14 and launched his first successful line, “Joe Dahan,” at the age of 18. “I was fortunate enough to make my first million at such a young age doing something that I loved,” the designer said of his first venture.
