John 1:9-13 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Jesus is God speaking to us. The message is, I love you, and I want you with me. A miraculous rebirth is required in order to be with God. No person is able to be a child of God based upon their own efforts alone. Everyone needs Gods help, and that help came to us in Christ Jesus. To be born again of God is a transformation, a restoration, and a reconciliation. Those who have come to faith see Christ when they look to their past, they see Christ when they look to their future, and they see Christ as the most precious present of all. Jesus said to His disciples, Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
