John 13:10-11 Jesus answered, a person who has had a bath needs - TopicsExpress

John 13:10-11 Jesus answered, a person who has had a bath needs only to wash his feet, his whole body is clean, and you are clean through not every one of you. He knew who was going to betray him and that’s why he said not everyone. A metaphor? Youre SAVED! You dont need to renew that license! But those feet? The paths they walk and the deeds they do? They need a daily cleansing! Im afraid sometimes I just rinse them off myself instead of taking them to Jesus for a complete cleansing! And dont overlook this - Jesus KNEW who was going to betray him, and he STILL WASHED HIS FEET! He knows everything about us. He loves us anyway. He came to serve us anyway. He died for our dirty feet. He lives to clean those feet. This scripture reminds me of my Mama for so many reasons - spiritual and otherwise. One memory is this - she would never let us get in the bed with dirty feet. Being born and raised in South Alabama, summer days were barefoot days for kids! Red clay and gray dirt and tar top roads... good heavens! Can you imagine going to bed with that all over your feet? Years later Mamas rule still applies! Dont go to bed with dirty feet. Take those nasty feet to Jesus and let Him wash away the junk you dont need to carry with you. Red clay, gray dirt, and tar top roads are replaced by worry and pride and doubt...good heavens! Can you imagine going to bed with that all over your feet? Jesus stands ready with his basin. What are you waiting for?
