John 3:1-17 All of us have had some kind of uncertainty about what God was telling you. Nicodemus had his confusion about how one could be born again, it seems physically impossible, right? But Jesus wasn’t being literal, He was talking about being reborn in your mindset and soul. Everyone has at one point been like Nicodemus, caught up in the literal things instead of going deeper and finding the true meaning of Jesus’ word. This scripture is important to me because John 3:16 was the first verse I ever memorized when I was younger, and I still remember it today. It really shows depth of God’s love for us, because he did give up his only son to forgive us for all of the terrible sins we do every single day. If you are a parent I’m sure you can imagine how difficult this would’ve been, and especially in the circumstances that Jesus was crucified under. Back to Nicodemus, use his enlightenment as a lesson. When you are reading any part of the Bible keep an open mind, don’t try to assume anything about the message the verse is giving until you’ve given a lot of thought and prayer to it. You could have a whole new experience with God if you just keep an open mind and really listen to the messages that are being shown to you. This passage relates to the “Visible” theme because you are only made visible once you are enlightened about God’s plan for you, and if you just open your mind you can be exposed to completely new meanings of God’s word that will make much more sense to you. Prayer: Dear God, please keep me in the right mindset of being open to all that You are bringing to me. Let me be enlightened, like Nicodemus, when I am being too focused on earthly and literal things. Thank You for all that You’ve done, and please let me live out Your plan for me. Amen.
