John 3:16 For God so loved (Love is in degrees/depths) the world, that he gave his only begotten Son(Love involves giving something of VALUE in your estimation), that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (Love is given in response to someones need not wants!) The APPLIED VALUE of what is given is what defines love , not the ABSOLUTE VALUE! Cain gave a sacrifice and it was rejected, why? Because it was not done in response to Gods need! Mind you the sacrifice cost him something to prepare. 1Cor 13:3 (WEB) If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but dont have love, it profits me nothing. The parent who refuses to discipline her child in the name of love is in error. Two opposite genders who live in immorality and claim that they love each other are in error,etc. The reason is that the TRUE NEED is not met, only a false need of immediate satisfaction was met! Giving is not necesarily love but the PURPOSE of giving is what defines love! Love involves giving but not all giving involves love! To what end? The answer to this question defines whether a giving is inspired by love or not. Brethren, let us start loving aright!
