John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. If you are truly seeking God, you can find Him through Jesus Christ—what He has done on your behalf. He has come from God; His Spirit seeks to unite with your spirit, to reflect and effect the Father’s forgiving love and to restore you to His order and orbit for your life. It demands, however, a radical change in your life. It is very much like being physically born again. It resolves in embracing Christ and His teachings, in following Him in respect to His activities. Acknowledge your fruitless striving, your selfish struggles to measure up to God’s standards and purposes for your life, and accept the righteousness He has made possible through Jesus Christ. You cannot do for yourself what God has already done for you. You can, by His enabling Spirit, turn away from sin, rejoice in His forgiveness, and dedicate your life to living by His precepts and objectives as Jesus has made them known to you. God loves you. He has revealed that love in what He has done for you through Jesus Christ. You can never destroy God’s love, but you can resist it in carelessly ignoring His redeeming love or in your foolish efforts to be deserving of His love. God desires that no should perish. He, through Christ, endured much suffering on your behalf that you might be reconciled to Him. You who were born in sin may, by His Spirit, be born anew, freed from sin’s damning guilt, free to live forever, with others who follow Christ, as God beloved children.
