John 6:44 No one is able to come to me unless the Father who sent - TopicsExpress

John 6:44 No one is able to come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day. That is completely true, but who is called by the Father? John 6:45-47 It is written in the prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who hears from the Father and learns comes to me. (Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God—this one has seen the Father.) Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes has eternal life. The one that hears and learns, thus believing has been drawn. But not all drawn are raised up. The construction of the sentence shows that those drawn must come to be raised up. You cannot come unless youre drawn... you cannot be raised up unless youre drawn and you come to raised up. But let us just see... by reading a bit further in John. John 8:43 Jesus said to them, “If God were your father, you would love me, for I have come forth from God and have come. For I have not come from myself, but that one sent me. So we know that Jesus was sent by God. John 8:47 The one who is from God listens to the words of God. Because of this you do not listen—because you are not of God. Everyone who hears from the Father AND learns comes to Jesus. In prediction of His death, it is written: John 12:27-33 “Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, deliver me from this hour’? But for this reason I have come to this hour! Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have both glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” Now the crowd that stood there and heard it said it had thundered. Others were saying, “An angel has spoken to him!” Jesus answered and said, “This voice has not happened for my sake, but for your sake. Now is the judgment of this world! Now the ruler of this world will be thrown out! And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” (Now he said this to indicate by what sort of death he was going to die.) This is written for your sake, the one who hears and learns from God! The ruler of this world is thrown out, and the Fathers drawing is given to the Son when He is lifted up! John 13:1-5 Now before the feast of Passover, Jesus, knowing that his hour had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, and having loved his own in the world, loved them to the end. And as a dinner was taking place, when the devil had already put into the heart of Judas son of Simon Iscariot that he should betray him, because he knew that the Father had given him all things into his hands, and that he had come forth from God and was going away to God, he got up from the dinner and took off his outer clothing, and taking a towel, tied it around himself. Then he poured water into the washbasin and began to wash the feet of the disciples, and to wipe them dry with the towel which he had tied around himself. Jesus knew that the Father HAD given ALL to Him. Even the ability to draw men to Himself. You cannot build doctrine a verse at a time. The Father draws all men, because Jesus draws all men and all has been given to Jesus by the Father.
