John Denver wrote Annies Song in 1974, while on a ski lift on Bell Mountain in Aspen, Colorado. He had just skied down a difficult run called, Elevator Shaft. He was so exhilarated by the previous run that he was inspired to compose Annies Song riding back up the lift. He was so excited about the song that he raced home and immediately set it to music. He dedicated it to his wife Anne. He was an avid pilot, and died while flying his personal aircraft at the age of 53. Denver was one of the most popular acoustic artists of the 1970s.. You fill up my senses like a night in the forest, like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain, like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean. You fill up my senses, come fill me again. Come let me love you, let me give my life to you, let me drown in your laughter, let me die in your arms, let me lay down beside you, let me always be with you. Come let me love you, come love me again.
