John Evans-Class of 1952 Mr. John Harper Evans, age 80 of Rockwood, Tennessee passed away on Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Roane Medical Center. Mr. Evans was born July 19, 1934 to John A. & Fay Bowman Evans. Mr. Evans was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockwood, Tennessee. He was Graduate of Rockwood High School; He earned a Degree in Engineering from Tennessee Tech and a Masters from the University of Tennessee. Mr. Evans was retired from Martin-Marietta with 35 years’ service as a Mechanical Engineer. He was a Life-long Member of the NRA. John was preceded in Death by Parents: John A. & Fay Evans; Brother: Dr. Tom W. Evans He is survived by: Sister: Betsy Broyles (Jim) Sister-in-law: Peggy Evans Nephews: John C. Evans (Tiffany) Thomas Patrick Broyles (Amy) Nieces: Dr. Angela E. Meadows (Darryl) Janet B. Trainham (James) Great-Nieces and Nephews: Chelsea Meadows, Alison Meadows, John D. Evans, John B. Broyles, William T. Broyles, Lena K. Broyles, James E. Trainham III, and Elizabeth E. Trainham Host of Friends in the Rockwood Community Arrangements are as follows: Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Evans Mortuary, Family will receive Friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Memorial Graveside Service and Interment will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 11:00am in the Bowman-Evans Cemetery at Caney Ford with Rev. Charles Kelley, officiating. Evans Mortuary of Rockwood is serving the Family of Mr. John Harper Evans.
