John Horsnall Memorial 21/12/2014 Well the weather was kind to us which set us up for a lovely days racing. 43 dogs in total on the programme oooppp sorry 44 !!! 29 in the ABCD handicap, 5 pups and 10 scratch dogs. It was lovely to see so many of Joyces family gracing track side today in memory of their, dad, grandad, great grandad, how fitting for the victor to be Chris Spot the Dot. Unfortunately the open wasnt run on the normal date in June, Fathers Day, but that didnt really matter as today was still fathers day for Johns family. Can only hope everyone who attended enjoyed it as much as I did, John was one of a kind, remember first meeting him and he scared the pants off me, hed chunter, then chuckle, never knew whether to take him seriously or laugh with him, i soon realised laughing was the best way forward, and laugh at times we certainly did with his tales :) Thank you to everyone who contributed to the raffle some lovely prizes, donated by racing colleagues and the Horsnall family, the hampers, well even if i say so myself didnt look half bad, hope all the winners enjoy them. Sorry for waffling but this one has a special meaning to our club and many of our members.
