John Johnny Hesni May 20, 1946 - Sep 30, 2014 It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our treasured husband, father, grandfather, mentor, & friend. He will forever be remembered as a man with strong family values and honest integrity. A Memorial Mass for John “Johnny” Joseph Hesni will be held Friday, October 3, 2014 at St. Rita Catholic Church. Visitation will commence at 9:00 a.m. with mass immediately following at 11:00 a.m. It is Johnny and the family’s wishes that those wanting to send flowers to please refrain, instead donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital Cancer Research Center in the name of John J. Hesni or send potted plants. On the morning of September 30, 2014, Johnny passed away after a three year battle with cancer comforted by his beloved wife, Judy. Johnny was only 68 years old. Through his fatal illness he was most patient, strong, and humble in his brave fight. A wonderful example of Christian values as well as the true definition of a family man. During his fulfilled life he endeared himself to all who knew him by his cheerful, light-hearted disposition, and his passion for food, music, and fun. A father to few, mentor and teacher to many, he always made time to help anyone in need of guidance. His humble personality can best be remembered through his selfless giving and his priceless sense of humor. Johnny was always involved in the community. As part of the Alexandria Jaycee’s, Alexandria Dixie Youth Baseball, Krewe of Boogaloo, Trojan Club, St. Francis Cabrini Church, St. Rita’s Church, and the Syra-Meric club; he was always there to volunteer time and effort. Johnny is a graduate of Northwestern State University with a BA in Business that he utilitized through 35+ years in Real Estate. Noles-Frye Realty has been his home-away-from-home for the last several years. If you knew Johnny before his Real Estate endeavors you may recall The Big “M” Army Surplus Store or Abe’s Pawn Shop on Lee Street. He is preceded in death by his mother, Alice Abraham Hesni and his father, Joseph A. Hesni. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Judy May Hesni. His three children will miss him dearly: John Joseph Hesni II (wife Becki Bruce Hesni); Jason Pruett Hesni; and Joanna Hesni Guillotte (husband Seth Morris Guillotte). Also left to cherish his memories are his grandchildren: John J. Hesni III, Benjamin Hesni, Justin Hesni, Annalee Guillotte, Micheal Bolen, and Emily Bolen. Also his sister, Alma Abraham Holland and many, many other cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and their respected spouses. Pallbearers honored to serve will be: John J. Hesni III, Benjamin Hesni, Trey May, Samuel May, Parrish Taylor, Michael Bolen, and Seth Guillotte. Honorary Pallbearers to serve will be: Jack May, Rodney Noles, Greg Gormanous, Randy Monsur, Ellis Saybe, Tommy Antoon, Robert Antoon, Dale Daenen, Gary Lahood, Chris Burch, Russell Wilson, Louise Joseph, Jay Ellington, Joe Gardner, Bobby Distefano, Dusty Nassiff, and Norm Olson. As Johnny would say, “Lessaisez Les Bon Temps Rouler and let the celebration of my life begin!”
