SYRACUSE, NY – More than six months after announcing his campaign for Congress, John Katko finally sat down for his first in-depth interview with the Syracuse Post-Standard. Katko continues to refuse to take a position on major issues including the Republican Ryan budget, but was clear that he opposes paycheck fairness for women, a woman’s right to choose, and raising the minimum wage for hard-working Central New Yorkers. On one hand, Katko says you’ll have to wait until he’s elected to see where he stands on critical issues like the Republican Ryan budget, but on the other hand he’ll proudly tell you about his opposition to women receiving equal pay for equal work and making their own health care decisions,” said Mark English, Chairman of the Onondaga County Democratic Committee. “He still refuses to take a position on issues like the Ryan Budget that are important to people in Central New York, but when he does take a position it is extreme, reckless, and wrong for women and middle class families.
