John Rabold posted an Indianapolis Radio Log on his page the other day. The newspaper clipping was undated, but 103.3 FM was idd as WGEE-FM. I have no idea what is now (and dont really care), but I remembered it as WXTZ, co-owned with WIRE... So I did some research. Rather than hi-jacking the thread on Walt Gleason, where Carter mentions working at both WGEE and WIRE, Ill share it here. WGEE-FM was sold to Mid-America (WIRE licensee) in Dec, 71. WXTZ call granted in early 72. WGEE (AM) sold by Rollins to B&G Broadcasting Apr. 72, granted WNIR Aug, 72. (WGEE call transferred to Green Bay WI later in 70s.) WGEE: AM went on air in 56, initially programmed for white and Negro listeners. By late 50s, they were trying a country format. FM call assigned in 61; went on air in 64. Heres Johns picture.
