John Rooney, the brother of alumna Ellen Rooney Martin ’82, was recently diagnosed with ALS. John is a very active member of the local community, serving in various positions at St. John Fisher Parish, West Beverly Civic Association, the Beverly Area Planning Association Council and the Catholic Charities Advisory Board. He and his wife Meg have three sons; two are currently in college, and one attends Brother Rice High School. They will hold a fundraiser at Bourbon Street on October 19 to raise money for John’s medical care and show him how much he is loved. More information can be found in the attached link.
