John Royce Johnny Mathis (born September 30, 1935) is an American singer of popular music. Starting his career with singles of standard music, he became highly popular as an album artist, with several dozen of his albums achieving gold or platinum status and 73 making the Billboard charts to date. Johnny Mathis has sold well over 350 million records worldwide as confirmed by Guinness music chart historian Paul Gambacini, this makes Mathis the 3rd most successful recording artist of the 20th century and of the last 60 years. Although he is frequently described as a romantic singer, his discography includes jazz, traditional pop, Brazilian music, Spanish music, soul music, rhythm and blues, soft rock, Broadway theatre, Tin Pan Alley standards, some blues and country songs, and even a few disco songs for his album Mathis Magic in 1979. Mathis also recorded five albums of Christmas music. In a 1968 interview, Mathis cited Lena Horne, Nat King Cole, and Bing Crosby among his musical influences. =========================================================== Joshua Winslow Josh Groban (born February 27, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. To date, he has sold over 25 million records worldwide. Groban originally studied acting, but moved to singing as his voice developed. Groban attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, a free public school on the campus of California State University, Los Angeles, where students receive a conservatory-style education. His vocal coach, Seth Riggs, submitted a tape of Groban singing All I Ask of You from The Phantom of the Opera to Riggs friend, David Foster. Foster called Groban to stand in for an ailing Andrea Bocelli to rehearse a duet, The Prayer, with Celine Dion at the rehearsal for the 1998 Grammy Awards. Rosie ODonnell immediately invited him to appear on her talk show. Foster asked him to sing at the California Governors Gray Davis 1999 inauguration. He was cast on Ally McBeal by the shows creator, David E. Kelley, performing Youre Still You for the 2001 season finale.
