John Terry becomes Chelsea’s third equal highest appearance maker, drawing level with Frank Lampard’s 648 games. The skipper will play alongside Kurt Zouma who retains his place following his impressive performance against Watford last weekend. It is the 20-year-old’s first Premier League start. Gary Cahill is on the bench. Petr Cech also continues in goal and Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard start following their resting from the FA Cup game. There is a familiar look to the Chelsea attack with Diego Costa the centre-forward. For Newcastle, Vurnon Anita plays in midfield with Cheick Tiote away preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations. Ramy Cabella comes into their attack to play alongside Ayoze Perez and Yoan Gouffran. The Magpies’ captain Fabricio Coloccini and regular keeper Tim Krul are passed fit to start after injury. Chelsea are expected to line up in the following 4-2-3-1 formation: Cech; Ivanovic, Zouma, Terry (c), Azpilicueta; Matic, Fabregas; Willian, Oscar, Hazard; Diego Costa. Subs: Courtois, Cahill, Filipe Luis, Mikel, Ramires, Remy, Drogba. Newcastle are expected to line up in the following 4-3-3 formation. Krul; Janmaat, Coloccini (c), Williamson, Dummett; Sissoko, Anita, Colback; Cabella, Perez, Gouffran. Subs: Woodman, Santon, Haidara, Ameobi, Vuckic, Armstrong, Riviere. The referee is Roger East.
