John Wick: Is it just me or does Keanu Reeves seem to have hit a certain age and not got any older? Yup, in case you havent guessed this is a Keanu movie. Reeves plays John Wick, a retired hitman for the Russian mob. Wick falls in love, gets married and retires from the profession. Then the mob cock up and upset John enough to bring him out of retirement. The film is action orientated with some big, stylised set pieces. I felt it was a bit like Michael Manns Miami Vice and Heat mashed with Leon undertones in a contemporary setting. It also reminded me of eastern martial arts films, then I read the directors biog and all became clear why on that score... Reeves is ably supported by Willem Dafoe, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, Adrianne Palicki (who seems to be growing in popularity), Alfie Allen (the G.O.T. runt Greyjoy) and Michael Nyqvist as the head of the mob. As an action film, yeah its ok. Its more style than passion but its entertaining. 7/10 https://youtube/watch?v=RllJtOw0USI
