John is sitting up this morning. A trooper, indeed! He still has the epidural in. The removal of the omentum is apparently quite painful combined with the scraping if the peritoneum. So the epidural is keeping him comfortable. The resident doc we spoke with (he was one of the assistants to Dr. Ong during the surgery) said he believes they removed 70% of the disease. That was the balanced approach with the crazy amount of disease they found inside John. What that means is that as long as pathology comes back cancer-free (the material is more benign/DPAM/mucinous neoplasm) it gives us the most amount of productive, quality years before they will need to treat again. They did remove a couple of lesions that could be the hardcore cancer, but we remain hopeful.
