John was surrounded by loved ones when he passed peacefully today around 1 PM. My heart is broken in pieces for his family but its also so full due to the amazing outpouring of support from everyone who donated to his Angel Fund. You can read an update from Johns brother by visiting Johns Angel Fund caring page. I stood by Johns bed last night and held his hand and said goodbye and felt utterly powerless. I cried with his mother and brother and the only thing I could think to do was to help raise funds to pay for his funeral. I told Johns mom that the DS community is amazing and they will rally to support you. I cried myself to sleep hoping and praying that we could all work together to take the financial burden from this family. WOW.....you all really outdid yourselves! I cried tears of joy when I landed in Atlanta and saw $600 in donations and fifty notifications. More tears of joy when I landed in Orlando a few hours later and saw $2,000 in donations and 100 notifications. As I type this, Johns page has been shared 1,400 times and you helped raise over $6,000 already. Wouldnt it be great if we met the $10,000 goal? Whether you prayed, donated or shared his page, thank you, thank you for helping and being an angel for John. Please continue to lift his family up in prayer as they process this devastating loss. Any contribution is appreciated and will be used to pay funeral expenses, medical bills or rent for Johns mom.
