John21:3 Im going out to fish, Simon Peter told them, and they (4 other disciples) said Well go with you. So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught NOTHING!! My point: It wasnt for lack of effort, it wasnt because they didnt know what they were doing because Peter was a fisherman by trade. JESUS had already been nailed to the CROSS, so the disciples were scared to death because they were on the hit list by the Romans and the Jewish High Priests. They didnt know what to do without JESUS around, so they went back to their comfort zone, they went back to doing what they were good at doing, fishing; BUT GOD!!! shut that door in their face. They caught nothing. When GOD shuts a door in yo face, it doesnt matter what you know or who you know, it doesnt matter what school you went to or how many degrees you have behind your name, it doesnt even matter how good-looking you are because you catch NOTHING!! Before JESUS went to the CROSS, He told his disciples they would be fishers of men. They lost faith without JESUS around, BUT GOD!!! . . . . got them back in order by shutting a door in their face.
