Johnathan Rand asks on the wall: On the topic of banned books: whats your opinion of an author who bans his own book? Specifically, Stephen King ordered his book Rage (under Richard Bachman) to go out of print, citing its content (school/gun violence). Yet, I dont typically find this on any banned lists. #BannedBooksWeek I personally think an author is probably the only person allowed to pull a book, after all he alone has to live with the effects or perceived effects of its release. Im also reminded of Kubricks movie version of Clockwork Orange, banned by Kubrick himself until his death at least. However, I do have a notion that banning anything is a guaranteed way to get it read, I watched Clockwork Orange when I was about 14, I never got along with the book very well. What do you guys think?
