Johnny., Can anyone Canadian, anyone of your Facebook friends explain to me what is wrong with Canadian soccer? I realize that you dont follow it, preferring to watch the NFL. Canada had no chance whatsoever to qualify for the World Cup given the players they fielded during World Cup elimination games, but when a tiny Caribbean island state like Martinique really puts it to Canada in the Gold Cup, as happened just last year, something is truly wrong in the land far north, with a population of what, 35 million, and growing, a population larger than that of many, most European nations? Somebody who knows soccer in Canada please explain to me what is wrong. P.S. Toronto FC has just signed two of the best players in the world, Michael Brady of the U.S. and Jermain Defoe of . . . well, his family hails from the French West Indies, but Defoe was born in England, and thus plays for England in World Cup competition, and he has played for Tottenham Hotspur for many seasons, being one of their best goal scorers for many years, hitting the century mark in goals for Tottenham last year I believe. Watch for Toronto FC to finish near the top of the MLS this season.
